Copyright and takedowns
In short
We respect creators' rights. If something on TierNation infringes your copyright or trademark, send us a notice and we'll take it down quickly. If your content was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice.
1. Reporting infringement
Send a notice to [email protected] with:
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough);
- the work you say is infringed (or, if several, a representative list);
- where the infringing material is on the Service (links or player names), precisely enough for us to find it;
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
This follows the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)) and works for notices under EU, UK, Indian and other laws too. Knowingly false notices can make you liable for damages. We remove or disable the material promptly, tell the person who posted it, and send them a copy of your notice (with your contact details, so they can respond).
2. Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, send us a counter-notice at [email protected] with: your signature; the material that was removed and where it was; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and phone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address (or, outside the US, any place where we may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
We forward the counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they've gone to court, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving the counter-notice.
3. Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others' rights, in appropriate circumstances.
4. Minecraft content and trademarks
Minecraft names, skins, item textures and other game assets belong to Mojang, Microsoft or the players who made them. We use them to identify players and gamemodes, under the Minecraft Usage Guidelines, and claim no ownership of them. Skins are loaded from Mojang's and mc-heads.net's servers. If you own a skin or asset and want it removed, send a notice as above. See also the Disclaimer.
The TierNation name and logo are ours. Please don't use them in a way that suggests we endorse your project, or for a different tier list.
